How to Care for Your Bras

How to Care for Your Bras

Bras shouldn’t just be an undergarment that gets tossed into the drawer. They are an investment, and you need to be sure you are caring for them properly. When you buy high-quality bras, they will be comfortable to wear. Naturally, you want them to last for as long as possible. With a little extra care and attention, you can make sure your lingerie stays in great shape.

Handwash the Bras

The first thing you need to know about bras is that they should only be hand-washed. Putting them into the washing machine might seem easy enough to do, but it can damage them. There is a chance that the straps could become tangled, which can cause them to stretch. They might also twist and lose their shape. This means that they will no longer be as supportive, and they could become uncomfortable to wear.

Even if you are using a lingerie bag, there is still a good chance that it will be damaged and could break. It could damage the wires, and the wires could even cause damage to the washer.

The best thing you can do is handwash them using lukewarm water and some mild detergent. Then, rinse them with cold water. Keep in mind that you should only wash them after every two to three times you wear them—not after each use.

Do Not Put Them in the Dryer

Here’s another important tip. Don’t put them into the dryer. Being in a tumble dryer will damage the bras and their components. The heat from the dryer could melt elastic, cause the colours to fade, and it could even cause issues with the underwire.

All of your underwear should be air-dried. Just keep in mind that you do not want to hang the bras by their straps. Doing this when they are wet means they are heavier. This added weight has the potential to cause them to stretch. They will not fit properly and will no longer be comfortable to wear.

Give Them Some Space When Storing Them

How are you storing your bras? A lot of women want to save space, so they fold the bras in half, never realizing the damage they could be doing. When you fold them and store them, it can cause them to become misshapen. When this happens, it will no longer provide proper coverage and protection.

Therefore, you want to be sure that the bras have plenty of space in the lingerie drawer. They should be laid flat against each other. This will ensure they retain their shape.

Rotate the Bras

You should wear your bras in rotation so that you don’t wear a single bra too much. Doing so will cause the elastic and other elements to wear down too quickly. Rotate through them, so you don’t wear the same bra for more than one day in a row. The more bras you have the easier this will be. They will also last for a long time.

Sometimes, You Need to Replace the Bra

You don’t want to hold onto old bras that are no longer doing their job. Sometimes, you have to replace the bra. When it comes time to get a new one, you want to be sure you are always opting for the best quality. Panache is a fantastic manufacturer and offers some great bras including the Panache Tango.
